Deadline: 21 March
Millbank Tower is offering £700 for two student groups to organise a series of 2 to 5 events—such as talks, symposiums, workshops, presentations, or networking sessions—of their choice. All events must be organised and completed by mid-June. The events will be advertised internally (UAL-wide) and will not be open to the public. This initiative provides you with hands-on experience in event organisation and development.
What’s the offer?
Funding: up to £700 per group to cover event costs.
Support: Each group will have access to a shared studio space at Millbank Tower—available Monday to Friday, 10am – 6pm—for project planning and preparation, to collaborate with their collective and the other funding recipients (two groups in total). They will also have access to Studio 27 as the space for hosting their series. The onsite team will provide general operational support, health and safety guidance, as well as assistance with communication strategies.
Collaboration: Your project must involve cross-disciplinary collaboration—whether it’s between different colleges, courses, years, or between staff and students. All CCW students can apply.
Internal Events: The events are not public but must be open to all UAL students/and or staff, beyond CCW. You’ll need to take the lead in advertising them among your peers. The team can support you with this.
Key Highlights:
Collaboration & Networking: Bounce Collaborate brings together students from different disciplines, encouraging cross-course collaboration and the chance to build lasting professional networks.
Professional Development: You will gain practical experience in project management, budgeting and event coordination.
Hands-On Learning: With our team support and a collaborative environment, you will take the lead in executing your projects, preparing them for future development and opportunities.
This initiative offers a unique opportunity for students to engage deeply with collaborative practices, build professional skills, and connect with like-minded peers in a supportive environment.
Why Apply?
This is a great opportunity to gain event management experience, develop collaborative skills and manage a budget. It is also the opportunity to extend your network beyond your college.
Participation Requirements:
Complete the application form, emphasising your enthusiasm for and commitment to collaboration with students beyond your college. We are also interested in how you will advertise your initiative to your UAL peers. Additionally, a detailed budget breakdown outlining how you will spend the £700 stipend is required as part of the form.
For assistance with your application form, you can refer to the Bounce Collaborate Evaluation Matrix, which explains how to appropriately respond to each question in the application form. We also encourage applicants to get in touch with us via ccwmillbanktower@arts.ac.uk in advance of the submission date with any questions they may have, as well as to discuss the budget breakdown.
Applicants must be able to commit to using the Millbank Tower Professional Practice Studios on a weekly basis to actively engage with fellow Bounce Collaborators. While independent study or personal work is permitted, the primary focus should be on the collaborative initiative. This is a fantastic opportunity to make the most of a large, welcoming studio, right in the heart of London, with a stunning view! Take a look at our professional practice studios here.
